  • Thanks Bernie.

  • That is very cool. The Jakes are what i found interesting and also the injector. since there is no cam, how is the injector clicking? or is it just the solenoid making that noise? BTW, Bring it to Barrington High School in Barrington, Illinois! lol just so i can see it.

  • Nice job looks great. The one thing that is nice about this is that it's very easy to see how simple the whole system is. If you want a challenge how about controlling the electric motor that turns the crank chopper wheel with the output of one of the injector output. It would be cool to use a PWM motor controller ked to one of the injectors to drive that motor. The longer and faster the injector duration the faster the motor would rotate the chopper wheel, up to TEL. Well nice job again.

  • Actually Cat will no longer be selling engines to the on-highway manufacturers as of 2010. I believe sales to Paccar was very high this year though. Cat is looking to release their own Cat truck that will not be on highway but similar in size. Very good board, wish I could have used it.

  • Actually 2009. Look it up.

  • well that sucks and thanks for the reply

  • Acert is plagued with problems. These engines have to burn more fuel to meet the new emission standard. So they can't sell them and now one wants them.

Acert in theory is better but EGR won

  • what how come they are going to stop

  • Thats a nice set up. It is a real shame Cat will no longer make truck engines after 2008

  • Hi there,

This board was completely homemade. There is no other information out there for this particular board.

CAT training is available at most diesel-tech schools, as well as many major Cat dealerships.

    Thanks for the comments
