You may want to try out some bmth songs. I've kinda lost interest in them, but Matt Nicholls uses some good techniques and fills that, no offense, you could work on.

yeah finding time for hobbies IS hard these days. Just remember, the more you practice the easier everything gets, and the better it sounds.

Im a fast learner and It took me literally about 6 months to get my double kick pedal fast enough for these types of bands. I'm still trying to get to "all that remains" speed. Almost there :p

cool vid, architect are excellent. reminds of me drumming to music when i first started. oh yeah i would get vic firth isolation headphones and put music thru that, you are pumping serious decibelage into your ears to overpower the drums - which will result in tinnitus ;)

Oh also, invest in some better headphones (i mean earbuds). That can really make an improvement AND the drums won't kill your ears as bad (if you get noise canceling ones).
