My cover of the classic American R&B standard. This is a teaser for the upcoming, self-produced documentary series "Haunted Highways" I'm fliming with my fiancee, Marley Gibson.
Technical stuff... I recorded all tracks on my Zoom R16 digital Recorder:Interface:Controller in our RV motorhome using 9 tracks total. I played bass and guitar - both run direct (no amp micing). There are 2 rhythm guitar tracks in the right and left channels respectively. Each uses the R16's built-in distortion effect "blueline" A single bass track is center panned. Lead guitar was run through the R16's built-in distortion effect called "talktime". My lead vocals are double tracked in the left and right channels. A 3rd vocal track in a low pitched "gruff" sounding voice is center channel. Drum patterns were programmed using the free Hammerhead Rhythm Station drum machine, which were then dumped as raw WAV files. The WAV file drum patterns were then imported and assembled into the final arrangement using Sony Acid Pro 7.0 Prior to mixdown, I imported each of the raw tracks into Adobe Audition and muted out the silent sections of the vocal and instrument tracks. Then I performed the final mixdown within the R16 to get the final product you have here.
I hope you enjoy my first attempt at this! If feedback is positive, I may record and release more tracks in the future! =) Any questions, email me - ghostgeek@ghosthounds.com
love it
