@SecretChapeau Same here. My little guy just returned after being missing 13 days. He lost 4 pounds, and it was fairly cold. He has been sleeping on me all day, and twitching like crazy....no doubt reliving the fear he experienced the past two weeks. He was so limp one time, it freaked me out as I thought he was dead. I'm at least happy to know that this happens to kitties that haven't just went through a terrible ordeal.
I cry everytime my kitties do it...the limpness is what scares me most. One minute they're laying on my lap all cute, the next, I feel like I've got lifeless ragdoll I'm trying to bring back to consciousness. They go totally limp after the twitching, and it scares the daylights out of me! Vets say it's normal, but it's really concerning to me :/
Yo! Tht just happen to my cat now but like her whole body was twitching! I picked her up and she went limp like a rag doll and like 2 seconds later she snapped out of it! CREEPY ().()
@mewmewatyou lol akward feeling the first time they do it right on your lap, considering mine gets the full body twitch including the abdomen, ive gotten used to it now..just she's siamese and refuses to sleep anywhere else besides my lap, my bed, my couch and the basement but 75% of the time its my lap, 15% on the bed only when im sleeping and the other 2 are 5% each lol
Yep my kitties do that literally every time their in deep sleep. But one more than others. A lot of people don't know that cats and dogs experience REM sleep just like humans do, most likely he isn't having a bad dream like everyone thinks ! He probably is dreaming about pawing at a mouse or something ! There are some videos of sever cases of dogs that lack the paralytic gene that paralyzes us in REM sleep and their legs literally are sprinting while they sleep!! It's hilarious because u know h
