read more about the leafy sea dragon at
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leafy_sea_dragon

"The leafy sea dragon, Phycodurus eques, is a marine fish related to the seahorse. It is the only member of the genus Phycodurus. These creatures are native to the waters around southern and western Australia and generally remain in shallow, temperate waters. Their name comes from their appearance, with long leaf-like protrusions coming from all over the body. These protrusions are not used for propulsion; they serve only as camouflage. The leafy sea dragon propels itself by means of a pectoral fin on the ridge of its neck and a dorsal fin on its back closer to the tail end. These small fins are almost completely transparent and difficult to see as they undulate minutely to move the creature sedately through the water, completing the illusion of floating seaweed. . ."

  • UNIDENTIFIED SWIMMING OBJECT cool

  • actually its a sea horse

  • watchin this for my online oceanography class which is connected with the shedd aquarium. nice!

  • i wonder if fire is super effective

  • What is title of this song?

  • @geckosandreps1 -why would you want one as a pet? why not just leave the poor things in the ocean where they belong and buy a dog if you want a pet? It's selfish to take something like that and stick it in a tank hidden away in your own private collection!

Besides, they are a protected species unable to breed in captivity and they are also endemic to Australia.

  • last one in the video is a weedy seadragon, not leafy, and to all those saying they want one as a pet you would have to feed it a minimum of twice a day, usually only live food. these are even more difficult to keep than seahorses, which r very difficult

  • mermaids have some competition

  • I wanted to get one but now I refused to. I found out how they capture these beautiful creatures. The throw small charges (like the size of m-80s) into the reefs to stun them then they scoop them up.

    VERY Cruel not Cool.

  • I LOOOOVE SEA HORSES OMG XD
