Oh and for the record, the whole bank note and coinage idea would be optional if put into place the way I intended. Paper notes would still be legal tender.
-
Over time, it will save the government quite a lot of money in printing costs, as coins can last millennia. Paper money can't unless by a freak accident. And unlike paper, copper, silver, and other metals are actually worth something. More weight on the purse, but who carries a purse full of nickels and dimes, anyway? If this were reality you'd have a $50 coin, pure and simple. Now that I think about it and the past, prices seem very cheap in 1900 compared to today.
-
The *taxpayers* who hand in their notes for coins of the same value will in the ideal situation get a small bonus as an incentive, not only to recycle paper for something more solid like the copper used in pennies and the other metals used in other coins, but to send a message to the alarming percentage of people who *don't* pay taxes. Some thieves target copper and yet when on a penny, it's worthless. We should go back to the gold standard like before Nixon scrapped it.

Now for my "alternative." (hmm, CEO Duke doesn't sound too bad :) )
Why not start a tax-free program that lets people recycle their old bank notes and replace them with freshly minted coins that have equal value to the material that was used in minting them? I'm no economy expert, but I know that coins last much longer than notes, a reason treasure hunting is so popular. This is not perfect, but it's an idea that makes sense to me. More on the next post.

Humans are amazing when put to the test. They invented the computer, which you're sadly misusing right now to post an overly emotional complaint. Am I 12? You decide. Even if I was, it'd look pretty sucky for you to be lectured by a kid, wouldn't it? :) I know better than to have a serious debate with someone who has a hard time keeping a straight face. I just posted what I did so that those who actually care can read it and decide for themselves. Have any more answers?

@TheDukeofMania Pure Moron.
Taking from Tax Payers??? Is it the HIGHEST tax payers who get Social Security, no work = no social security.
Do you understand? Are you 12?
Educate yourself and don't be so ignorant.
What is the altenative Mr CEO? Get sick, get crippled and ......
Beg on street corners with a tin can?
Or invest in The Stock Market and play no you see it, now you don't with your 401K
If you were old and smarter, you would know to keep your money under your bed

I think life would actually have been better if Social Security was never put into place. People survived without it in the past, and they would have still lived if it never was put into place. If you try to juggle with a few balls, then add an egg into the mix, it's going to be more trouble than it's worth when you drop the egg. Why have it? Just get another ball.
As for Social Security, it takes money from taxpayers and gives it to others.

@fucktard435345345353 We need advancements that will provide ways to provide for our countries necessities while protecting our environment. Taxes will not encourage those advancements. Taxes will only move the pollution across the ocean where we have no control. There must be a better solution.

John Boehner does not understand climate change, hence he is a fucking moron

80 people want to 'pass the bill so they can find out what's in it'...
The deal will lower the payroll tax—the tax that funds the Social Security trust. This is a trap for Democrats. Republicans have been coming after Social Security for years and this cut is the biggest threat to the vital program in decades. It will cut one-third of Social Security's funding this year alone and when we need to restore the payroll tax back to its current level, Republicans will cry "tax increases" and could gut it permanently

I hope someone reads this. I just read the average family pays $20,000 taxes a year and the gov. spends $30,000, and over half goes to the military. The Iraq war will cost Over 2 trillion through 2016. And the 2011 military budget is about 1.2 trillion . That figures about $5000. Per man, woman and child a year . Does anyone else think that is too much? A military dictatorship
