Carolina Shag/WC Swing on GMA 1997

During one of my annual month-long visits to NYC for Dance Manhattan's "Artist in Residence Program". This is our humble attempt to do Carolina Shag justice on US national telly. Having limited Carolina Shag experience at that time, I consulted with my Shag peeps to get "approval" before teaching. We had a great time! You can definitely see our WC Swing taking over during the demos but we did our best. :o) For our UK friends, yes Charlie Gibson did say "Shag Clubs", as in Shag DANCING, silly!

I say; It's obvious the Americans don't know what 'Shagging' means here in England. Anyone shagging on the Boulovard in the Uk would very soon find themselves in jail old chap!

@salsaman247 I know! Funny, isn't it? One of our premier Shag instructors here in the U.S. told someone on a flight to London (or from, can't remember) that she was a professional Shag teacher. The story was hilarious. I wish I could have witnessed it first hand! LOL

@andidance The other one I like is 'Fanny'. If you told an English woman she had a nice fanny, chances are you'd get your face slapped - unless of course you new her very, very well. And I don't think an Englishman would fare very well if he announced in a 'Redneck' bar he was 'dying for a Fag' (Cigarette)!
