it had nothing to do with The Rolling Stones, it was their manager
-
probably. thats what also happened with Sting and Puff Diddly. Sting wanted 100% because he's a businessman. Verve owed more than 100% though. The stones manager is an arse.

absolutely. when you walk when listening, you get the feeling that your in the film clip. except I probably wouldn't walk over the bonnet of a car in London like he does, unless you want to get beaten. the song "Rather Be" is a bit like that, with the same base progression played over.

look up the article "my copyright hell" written my Phil Sutcliffe in 1999. it's all explained there. it's on the website 'rocks backpages' but i think you need an account. it's a really boring article though. it was the stones manager who is a knobhead/businessman.

what the fuck does "critically acclaimed"mean. I hear it every day about albums. verve were amazing. i borrowed the urban hymns guitar book, and just gave up. nick is great at what he does. i want some of his tape echo effects.

Fuck any other band, The Verve is music, with The Verve u don't need music

For the record you can't copyright a chord progression, the guy was wrong it was a string part that was used. It did not come from a Stones album but from a Stones cover album though the Stones owned the rights.

Bitter Sweet Symphony, my favourite tune of all time. If a better song is to come i cant wait to hear it. It still gives me goose bumps. If you walk listening to it you cant help throw a few shapes.

I love The Verve, amazing band!!!

Watch it again, number 10 is there.
they did apparently get clearance, maybe not formally, but when the rolling stones' legal guy saw how big the song was, he pressed for 100%. C***.
