"Amsterdam is bordered by France"

So, here´s a woman who has lived in Amsterdam for years, and despite that doesn´t seem to know that:

1. Amsterdam is a city and therefore is not borderd by any country.

2. The Netherlands, the country of which Amsterdam is the capital, is bordered by Belgium in the south, not France.

Amsterdam is one of my favorite places to visit. I have done several segments on day trips out of Amsterdam as well as some fun and unique places to see, like the "cat house." No, not that kind of cat house a real live floating canal house with a cat sanctuary on it. You can see it on my youtube channel "couplestravel" or my webshow "scattertravetv"

The distance between Amsterdam and the french boarder is about the same, as between Amsterdam and the german boarder: 250km

Paris is even closer to Amsterdam, then Berlin..

But you are right: The Netherlands do not share a boarder with France. There are about 50km of Belgium in between ;)

Nice video of Amsterdam, albeit a bit aged. However it does not do justice to the many aspects Amsterdam has to offer, even though a few were named outside of the well known tourist traps. Heck, I do daily videos from Amsterdam and even then, I get to discover new details and fun things about the city like every other day. The best experience though is probably by visiting for yourself. I recommend doing so between April 28 and May 7th with usually nice weather and 2 major one-day-festivals.
