@LuffsMetul so were not supposed to like bands like slayer because megadeth did everthing in thrash first? no. its called a genre because its a particular style of music, and each artist in that genre puts their own spin on it. and most will sound similar. because if it wasnt in the same genre, it would have a completely differing base structure.

@FallenShortFilms Actually very little djent sounds like Meshuggah at all. This does come very close to emulating Meshuggah, but I can't say Periphery,Vildhjarta, Volumes etc sound much like Meshuggah at all,and the boys in Meshugah have said it themselves in a 40 minute chatroom video.They state that they don't mind that djent is around nd that it's taken influence from them,but they say they aren't djent and that djent doesn't sound like them.A few instances in songs at best

YES. IT SOUNDS LIKE MESHUGGAH.. But 99% of Djent and Djent-related music WILL do. Meshuggah pretty much started the movement, as well as acts like Bulb/Periphery, Vildjarta etc. all shifting it to make it their own style.

Drewsif is doing the same, Djent-y stuff will more than likely ALWAYS sound like Meshuggah. Get over it and enjoy the music.

Oh cmon this is just an ode to everything Fredrik Thordendal has ever participated in. This is awesome, but cmon guys Meshuggah did everything in this "djenre" first and best. This fact should be our common ground as participants in this musical style.
