Oops, my bad. As the hotel staff says, "You mean Palmetto bugs?" This is the most disgusting hotel I have ever been in, we couldn't even go on our balcony at night because of the roaches. And do you think guest services moved us, comped part of our stay? Absolutely not. Stay away from this hotel folks!

  • Thanks for the comments.

We actually live in the south, and my husband has frequented MB since he was a child. We even stayed at this same hotel for the 4th last year because we liked the location for all the fireworks. Never before did we have an experience like this - they were inside, outside, my daughter stepped on one in the room, and no one wanted to go to sleep. Fact of the matter is, the Crown Reef has become run down, and service is non existent.

  • I just stayed there last month and we saw nothing like this at all...the place was clean, the service and staff were excellent:)

  • They aren't exactly roaches. I mean, they are, but they don't infest your house and eat your food or anything like that. If they're in the house, they got there by accident. I'm scared to death of the things, but you have to deal with them in the South. I live in South Carolina and during the summer, we get one in the house every couple of days. It's not because the house or hotel is nasty, they're everywhere down here.

  • it's not that bad
