Ban on entering Austrian Parliament - Das Hausverbot

Austria: On December 22nd the Members of the Austrian Parliament passed the austerity budget of 2011. This session was live broadcasted in ORF (Austrian TV). A group of students and unibrennt-activists seized the opportunity to take a seat in the auditorium of the Austrian Parliament. Among them was also Mrs. Sigrid Maurer, the elected chair - and spokeswomen of the Austrian Students Union. They have set a visible statement through shouting slogans like "We are here, we are loud, because we get deprived of future!" and throwing protest flyers into the chamber. People should know that Austrian students disagree with the austerity measures taken by the Austrian Government regarding budget-cuts in the education system. Immediately the students were thrown out by the security staff. As a result the Austrian Parliament punished these student activists including Mrs. Sigrid Maurer banning them from their democratic right to enter the Austrian Parliament in Vienna the next 18 months. Mrs. Sigrid Maurer in the line of her duty representing the students has only the opportunity to get access to Austrian Parliament if a security team escorts her during her visit. We need no students!
