  • um dont the alternators have to be supplied with 12 volts of electricity to activate the magnets in the alternators ,, for the alterators to produce electricity?

  • @lorrip0518 yes for like 1 second in the beginning... but i don't have those alternators any more now... i have a PMA now.. just 1 makes up to 300 amps

  • and is no louder than a 20inch fan

  • @MrJetjoe The camera makes it sound annoying. and the screeching sound is produced by the camera some how...

  • i took out the 3 car alternators and bought a PMA that is capable of producing 300 amps, i also got a 6.5HP electric start engine (new) it awesome it charges up 8 105AH batter in about 10 minutes. This thing helped a lot during Hurricane Irene when we lost power.

  • the lights are just there just incase i need some light... i actually charge a bank of batteries with this... which power all my electric things....tv,laptop, computer, lights.

and i change my electric motorcycle with it too. cost 10 to 20 cents gas a day.

What size alternators are they. Check your other post. I nailed it pretty well. ;-)

  • @javed1669

Way to go dude. I love it! ;-) 20 cents a day is pretty good!

  • @lorrip0518

Obviously, you are correct. But you definitely need a battery for start-up field excitation and load buffering. Look closer. He's got the battery box under the engine. Nice porta-electric. ;-) OK, it needs handles. I want to see it load tested. This is seriously capable of supplying enough juice during a power failure. With ample battery size, you could run a fridge and microwave on this, and then some. Needs some basic instrumentation, but a cool project. ;-)

    I like it.

  • hi nice setup bro i cuestion i have a 1/2hp electric motor and i would like to run 2 car alternator did u think is a good aidea pleas let me know thanks

  • man that is neat .good job

  • @doirealyneed1 You have to have a 9v to energize the alternator. There are no permanent magnets. You'll see this as an idiot light on your dashboard :)

  • What the F!#%ing H&** were you doing with the 9 volt battery???
