DSC-RX1 official release

Actually shot with Sony DSC-RX1 - the World's first compact digital camera with Full-Frame sensor. (as of September 12, 2012).
Feature of the camera is as of announcement date and cosmetic change related to AF mode option is not reflected.

Unlike others I don't think the magnificent image quality of this camera will suddenly go obsolete just because an updated model is released the next year. Shooting with the A850 and running it until it is DEAD before I move to the A99- frankwithersphoto dot KOM ;)

But unfortunately you'll have to throw it away after 5-10 years [with the great zeiss lens]. If you compare the price for ex. to a 4x5 Linhof Technika with Schneider Kreuznach Symmar lens which was made from the '50s - full set under 1000$. I don't compare the cameras, because it's pointless - they are totally different - just what you get for 1/3 of the rx1 price. At the moment there's probably no alternative to the rx1 if you want a FF and compact camera, but I can wait until next photokina ;)

how much for any other full-frame dSLR plus a 35 f/2 zeiss lens??? Not so pricey afterall... plus this is TINY. Come on. So many people whining about price have no idea what they are talking about.

you are very foolish- it is a 35 f/2 zeiss lens. It is a portable camera. Comparing this to a DSLR is idiotic.

Its a beautiful camera for those who need DSLR FF quality shots on a compact body. A several thousand dollars cheaper then a M9 too.
