I agree with you.. the only place in the whole middle east that Christians still have full freedom to express themselves and to reach high positions is Lebanon.The Christians in other Islamic countries r suffering, even in Iraq if Saddam hadnt been controlling the country the Christians would have been wiped out long ago but sadly as soon as the Muslims in Iraq took over they killed thousands and thousands of Christians. In the Islamic world today any idea of a free election is threatened by the existence of large large amounts of the population that seek to create a ISLAMIC state. Christians, in such a state, have inferior rights. We have NO COMPARISON AT ALL IN THE WEST. Do not try to compare your religion and say it is peaceful.

IN Saudi Arabia and the gulf they deny us the right to build Churches, but they demand the same freedoms they deny us in the West. If free elections are held in Arab countries Islamic Fundamentalists- who want union between Islam and Government would win in most places. IN EGYPT THEY ARE PROJECTED TO WIN, and Salafists (even more extreme) are the key vote next to the Islamic Brotherhood. In America and Europe we have free elections ALL the time, and we have no Christian govts, we have no theocratic states. It is NOT the same.
