i speak spanish so i'll try to speak well. first i think that if it's a server you need to install a stable os, windows (server or 7) is not stable, linux yes, and second, it should consume as little energy as possible because it has to be turned on always. this is my opinion

You should change over the Linux, and then use a samba share for your file sharing. Must faster and less bloating on the OS. You server will have less CPU and RAM load that way.

@arareone server 08 r2 and win 7 worked perfectly fine.... and ran rather fast for what i had in it.
