Rest In Paradise Hickstead♥ 1996-2011

As many of you know the world of horses and show jumping have suffered a great loss, the loss of Hickstead; A 16h Dutch Warmblood stallion who has been the best friend and champion of Eric Lamaze. Hickstead suffered from a heart attack that left him lifeless as Eric was riding him out of the ring at a competition in Verona. I have been lucky enough in my life to have the amazing champion of a horse walk right in front of me, and Ive seen him bring Eric to many championships. Sometimes live or on the other side of the TV but Im screaming "GO HICKSTEAD!" at the top of my lungs. We love you Hickstead! ♥

Rest In Paradise Hickstead. You will be loved and missed forever as you are one of the greatest horses of all time. I'm going to miss cheering for you on the other side of the TV, and I'll miss watching you take Eric to victory. You were an amazing horse and will never be forgotten, an inspiration to us all. My thoughts and condolences go to Eric Lamaze and everyone involved with this amazing horse. Gallop on Hickstead ♥

@116jewel I've been watching videos of Hickstead jumping, and in one of the videos, Eric brings him in close to a jump and Hickstead jumps over the post at the side of the jump, never mind just the rails! Cleared it like he had wings!!!! My God, what a horse!!! Winged like an angel. (Perhaps Pegasus reincarnated!?!?)

R.I.P hickstead you will never be forgotten Eric had trust in Hickstead and Hickstead had trust in Eric its amzing how Hickstead cleared some of those jumps and didnt run out at them when Eric was turning him so tight but thats trust its not something you can have straight away you have to earn it and thats what theyve done built up trust in eachother and thats why there such a great pairr x
