The day after Hurricane Irene, the Farmington River in CT is just about to overflow its upper banks. Further down the street from here, it already has; the water comes right up to the very brink on River Street in Windsor. Normally the river is much lower and one can see the large rocks that form rapids; right now those rocks are perhaps 3-5 feet under water.
