It's not that I "don't like that verse"--it's a penitent prayer and to take an exaggeratory Psalm and make it doctrine is downright dangerous and error.
"Psalm 58:3"--same issue, exaggeration... do infants talk? No. So can they speak lies? No. It's exaggeration.
In Rom 5:12 it says "because all sinned"--don't cut that off. And if you think we're ALL automatically sinners because of Adam(in Romans)--then to be consistent ALL are saved automatically b/c of Christ. Universalism

@droptozro Psalm 51:5 is about David, but we all descended from Adam so therefore it applies to everyone. Notice that David is the one being concienved, not his mother. Also the context is about David's sin and not his mom's sin. Also if you don't like that verse, then try psalm 58:3. In Romans it says that death came from Adam so that means original sin is true.

Evil will prevail when Those who know truth fail to act upon the freedom to call it out, it takes everyone working for the liberty of a nation, cull out the beligerent dissedents holding public offices and desicrating oathss stand up in truth, oaths are held to accountability, God the creator of all will have grievances with all who fail to live in truth of the inalienable rights provided by him. I will abide by the our Constitution Ron Paul 2012!

Everyone falls short and has all along, this is why Jesus is and was and always will be the redeemer of all men, we can only admire and desire to walk in his path, yet God demands we retain the courage to stand in truth and always strive for self preservation of the assurance of continuity. We each have a single relation to our creator for he is one he is and always will be the same one true God.

Psalm 51:5 is about David, not you or I. And if you read the literal translations it says "my MOTHER conceived"--so it's on her. Which could mean that she conceived him illegitimately etc... but the real issue is, it's probably just an exaggeration of how sinful David had been in his sin because it's a prayer of repentance. Rom 5:12 says "because all sinned"--don't read your view into it, it's conditional upon our sinning. Gen 6:5 says nothing about birth, but "youth."

@ReligionOfSacrifice Actually the Bible does teach original sin. Psalm 51:5 says that david was conceived in inquity. Romans 5:12 teaches all have sined because Adam sinned. Genesis 6:5 says that man's heart is only evil continually. If it wasn't for original sin, then Christ would not have needed to come, because man would be able to achieve salvation by being perfect.

I've got a problem with religion, but Mennonites are pretty decent, that is to mean they dont get in your face and judge anyone. I really enjoyed this and kind of made sense. This is a real Pastor and someone id actually converse with. Great sermon Pastor!

Jesus created everything you see around you, even your thoughts

I just went to this church for my friends' wedding, Andrew and Sarah. The Pastor and his wife are really awesome and really love their members. They are very funny as well. I did not know they had a video and that slap was crazy

So, if you walk into your house and find a man has broken into your home and is raping your daughter, what should you do ? Do you try and calmly set down with him and discuss ways of making his life better ? A slap on the cheek is one thing, but this can't be used as a law that says all self defense or defense of others is wrong . What would society be without police? Yet, Mennonites don't believe in having a police force either .

@123itisfree If you are interested in reading a small article on this you can go to my blog article "So what is our response to both our neighbor and our enemy?" or read more at a friend of mine Marty Troyer at the Peace Pastor
PS. Most Mennonites I know appreciate the police force. I have several who serve in my church.

@hjarrett7 I did that too once... stopped someone from murdering me... we got lucky... however, striking back was probably not a choice for either one of us... probly why women have a tendency to be more thoughtful and less forceful... i really like what you said in your message 123itsfree... i think the true message of what JC taught us is the most important for guiding our free will as we journey through this life.
