If you want to get even more technical the current series isn't the first remake, there's a third Mummy series done by Hammer Films consisting of the Mummy (a combination of Hand and Tomb with Christopher Lee as Kahris, who once again is portrayed as a mindless brute), the Curse of the Mummy's Tomb, the Mummy's Shroud, and Blood from the Mummy's Tomb. So in total there are 12 Mummy Movies, eight by Universal and four by Hammer

The 1932 Mummy is considered a classic of the golden age of Universal Horror, and is best remembered for having Boris Karloff playing Imhotep, the major difference is that Karloff's Imhotep wasn't a sorcerer and Karhis was simply portayed as nothing more then a mindless shambling brute

You're right THIS Mummy Series is a trilogy, I was talking aboout the orginal 1932 Mummy with Boris Karloff as Imhotep (the one the first film in this series was a remake of), Karloff was only the Mummy in the 1932 film, but it was popular enough that it spawned four sequals: The Mummy's Hand, the Mummy's Tomb, The Mummy's Ghost and the Mummy's Curse, each one with a different cast and story the only thing connecting them was Karhis, the replacement for Imhotep

Like the first series, Karloff only did the first movie, 2, 3, 4 and 5 have nothing to do with the first, except that they have a Mummy

Loved the Mummy 1 and 2, but 3 just sucked! Should have just written out the Evie character . If they make a 4 please bring back the original cast.
