Label: Desire Records
Catalog#: WANTX 6
Format: Vinyl, 12"

Country: UK
Released: 1988
Genre: Electronic
Style: Acid House, Deep House
Notes: The "Can You Feel It" shout sample on Can You Feel It is taken from Can You Feel It (Live Version) by The Jacksons.

In the beginning there was Jack ... and Jack had a groove
And from this groove came the grooves of all grooves.
And while one day viciously throwing down on his box,
Jack boldly declared "Let There Be House" and House music was born.
"I am you see, I am the creator and this is my house
And in my house there is only House Music.
But I am not so selfish because once you enter my house
it then becomes our house and our House Music.
And, you see, no one man owns house
because House Music is a universal language spoken and understood by all.
You see, House is a feeling that no one can understand
really unless you're deep into the vibe of House.
House is an uncontrollable desire to Jack your body.
And as I told you before this is our House and our House Music.
And every House you understand there is a keeper.
And in this house the keeper is Jack.
Now some of you might wonder who is Jack and what is it that Jack does.
Jack is the one who gives you the power to Jack your body!
Jack is the one who gives you the power to do the snake!
Jack is the one who gives you the key to the wiggly worm!
Jack is the one who learns you how to whop your body!
Jack is the one that can bring nations and nations of all Jackers together under one house!
You may be black, you may be white, you may be Jew or Gentile.
It don't make a difference in our house. And this is fresh!"

  • There is a track which I can't find, it has this sample, but a creaking gate in the background and some scratching, you maybe black ch black ch ch black, you maybe White ch White ch ch white, seem to think it was on and old sasha tape, totally awsome, if anyone can help point in right direction?

  • @SuperGazza1978 Have to say you may never find that tune.. I get a lot of requests from people asking for help. Thing is, back then there was a lot of bootlegs about, there wasn't any sampling or copyright laws, (part of the reason music is so stale nowadays) you might have heard a dublplate of maybe 50 pressing, that will either be dust now or sitting in a dj's collection somewhere. You just have to appreciate that that tune, at that time, helped you have a great time and define who you are...

  • released 2002 ? . thought this is a lot older .....it is surely from 88 or 89 .or am I going over the edge

  • Yes your right of course, but this was rereleased with all 4 mixes and i couldn't be assed finding all the different catalogue listings!! Actually not that easy as this mix was never really an official release or was limited at least. Have a look for the Martin Luther King mix.. now that will take you back to the early morning in the warehouse :)

    Peace Love & Unity

  • there is no sarcasm in my meaning rob . I always speak as is .

I genuinly thought ....then I thought .....so I asked .

there is something in my name ya know :)

    PLUR

  • Hey no worries mate i realise you were asking a straight question, that's cool. Actually a bit of feedback helps sometimes, like i posted a completly different tune under another title and also others coming up with remixes and versions.

I think me, 88to92, you, Hans, Browno, princeplato and all the others are all pulling together here to get the tunes and the info out there for others to hear and understand. It's in the tune..

This is our house and our house music, can you feel it?
