Laptops vary by brand, and so do their screen brightness capabilities. You can try adjusting the brightness level via your control panel. If that doesn't work, sometimes simply plugging the laptop in to a power source can help to brighten the screen.

  • This is idiotic. In order to brighten your screen on your laptop, just hold fn and keep pressing f6. Fn is the button on your keyboard that is right next to ctrl and right below shift. F6 is right above the numbers on your keyboard.

  • @jklobc, AMEN.

  • Can you cut the crap and explain how to adjust the brightness on a laptop????

  • I heard.. but I have one of those notebook laptops and the functions to change volume, brightness, ect. are on the actual keyboard. BUT the keyboard actually doesn't work anymore.. So how do I manually make it brighter? There is nothing is Display Properties or anything. Help? :( Inbox me or comment PLEASE

  • I have this problem, everytime time i turned on my laptop, my LCD brightness goes back into level 6/10.... which i set it earlier to 9/10.... What's wrong with my laptop? Is there any default changes that i can set to?

  • What a fool. I wasted 4:05 minutes of my life watching your stupid You Tube video to try and find a solution for brightness. I watched the entire thing just to hear you say you had no solution.

If you like to hear yourself talk, try the mirror. Quit wasting the time of those who are looking for help.
