I have a 2008 Honda Civic Hybrid that is said by Honda Corporate to be in perfect working condition. However, the car behaves 100% differently in cold weather (mornings) vs warm weather (anything over 80 degrees or so). In cold weather any time you press the accelerator (even slightly), IMA assist kicks on & remains on as long as you are accelerating. In warm weather, I can go 10 miles only seeing IMA assist pop up & back down again & VERY rarely remaining on more than 2-3 seconds. Unfortunately the afternoon footage was shot while I only had two bars of battery, however, the same thing happens with 50-75% bars too (I will try to re-record at that time & link the video here) If you are having this same issue with your hybrid, please comment here - or is it just mine?

  • do you have the software update???

  • I was able to settle with Honda Motor of America on a new IMA Battery Pack. They wanted $3500 but after talked with the service reps at Honda Motor they were able to come down to $700 with labor included. My hybrid works perfect now, I am averaging and astounding 46 MPG! I would encourage anyone who has rapid battery discharge like mine, to open a case with Honda Motor of America.

  • I have the same problem with my 2007. My video is under Honda Civic Hybrid Battery Problems
