What Is Tourette Syndrome?
Tourette syndrome (TS) is a neurological disorder where a person has both motor and vocal tics. Doctors and scientists don't know the exact cause of TS, but some research suggests that it occurs when there's a problem with how nerves communicate in the brain. A disturbance in the balance in neurotransmitters — chemicals in the brain that carry nerve signals from cell to cell — may play a role in TS.

im glad you're not just some asshole trying to be funny, you really basically covered the stuff. though there's much more to it than just tics, speaking as a person who is just now is "getting over" my tics so to speak

and for those dumbasses who think tourettes is just cussing a lot, that;s the rarest form of tourettes ever recorded, don't go thinking you know everything about tourettes just because you watched Deuce Bigalow

Saw your post regarding Tourette Syndrome as a load of tosh.

It's not a load of tosh. I have it. For over 20 years. And I HATE having the tics and obsessive thoughts.

People have a hard time believing that it's real, sadly.

It's a physical abnormality in the brain. Genetic AND a PHYSICAL disorder. NOT PSYCHOLOGICAL. It's neurological.
