I just finished a long private rafting trip and a few days ago we went into lava falls. 2 of our 4 boats flipped. Those are serious rapids

Arg! I hate videos that make me turn off my sound. Anyway, looks like 8,000 cfs or so, right?

dco2: I did miss It? But I understand the Youtube BS. I have fought and won a couple of times but the effort is not really worth it. If you do some searching I found some really good stuff on the Audio Swap. YOu can search by length which did not work for me. So just pull a good song and let it cut off. I still give 5 stars to anyone who makes an effort to put together a video for others entertainment. I do appreciate it.--g hd

sorry you missed the sarcasm in my post about being "pump"ed by the wack youtube tunes.

WOW! Nice video.
JUST got back from a trip in August 2009 so it was pretty much the same good ole' "Lava" conditions! Right side was the way to go! AWESOME! 90 degree angle but we highsided enough to bring her back down! WHEW WHAT A RUSH!
PEACE! ~Micki~ AKA ~SWAY~

Fun video thanks for posting. Looks like choppy conditions, even for Lava.
Offensive soundtrack. Why not just let the neighbor kid play 'chopsticks' on the piano? It's far less abrasive to the senses.
Better yet, do an intelligent and informative voice-over telling about white-water sports, the Colorado River and lava Falls. Nobody wants to listen to tweaked out Eurotrash noise while looking at spectacular nature scenes. Such music is more appropriate for butchering dead hookers.

@spurcross after you get 1000 views you can't change the music.......just stuck this in as a temp song because they kept pulling my other stuff off. Temp music is now permanent.

Some of the best QUALITY footage of river runs I've seen on Youtube! I have two technical questions:
1. How difficult was it to climb up to your filming perch?
2. What kind of camera did you use?
We're heading out for a 21 day private trip thru Grand Canyon in March/April '10, and I'd love to get similiar film of people I KNOW!! Thanks for posting this!

The video is actually down graded for Youtube. I shot it in HD AVCHD using a sony HDR SR-12 with the wide angle lense. You can also purchase a water proof case for the camera which is very useful while hiking in Deer Creek and other slot canyons.
