The only living freshwater fish which can turn its head like a human being.
Heiko Bleher has been able to collect and photograph it in detail in its amazing habitat in South Western Australia in June 2009. To read about this collecting trip go to http://www.aquapress-bleher.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&am...

  • That is the most amazing thing.

  • @wkkimmy evolutionary gap species

  • This is Lepidogalaxias salamandroides. It is a fish not an amphibian.

  • @planterzs yeah fish do not have necks

  • Are they originally called salamander fish? They are from austrailia and they have the ability to form a mud cocoon when the drought season comes, they have a life so much familiar to a salamander.

  • Nice fish and also nice article in Nasze Akwarium ;-)

  • That is some kind of semi-aquatic salamader dude...

I KNOW this...because my uncle used to have a tank full of those things.

  • Fascinating... It looks unlike anything I've ever seen.

  • Interesting ! it really looks like an amphibia. Perhaps it will be his next evolution stage.

  • Wonderful! I want some! :)
