Vietnam Veterans for Peace Demonstrate Against Fellow Vet John McCain
On Sunday, Veterans for Peace, a large national organization made up of veterans of every war from Korea to Vietnam and Iraq, led a protest in the streets of St. Paul against the Republican National Convention. Among the members of Vets for Peace, there is a sizable contingent of Vietnam War vets. So too is the man they are demonstrating against--the presumptive presidential nominee John McCain. Democracy Now! correspondent Jeremy Scahill files a report from the streets of the Twin Cities.
@totoynani143 I'm pleased with Obama's performance. Laughable to someone like you I'm sure who spends all day watching fox news.
Obama in his first month passed the Lilly Ledbetter act. Later, repealed DADT, ended the Iraq war, lessened restrictions on stem cell research, Violence against women act, more pell grants for students, more hate crime laws, criminal pentalties for mortgage lender abuse,
The list goes on.
I get that you don't like him, that doesn't mean he's a bad president.

That would be one person who thought so. By the way, thank you for the last 8 glorious years. You, and those who chose not to think gave us Bush and Cheney. You must be so proud.

What speech did you watch? That was a horrible speech, droning on about himself instead of telling the US citizens what he would do for our great country as president.
I fear this man has no plan, just a platform of "I'm a war hero so elect me." I am in awe of the immense sacrifice he gave for us. He is a true hero. But that alone doesn't make him someone who can get us back on our feet.
Sorry, but I and everyone else need more. We need a plan to turn this country around.
