Um Cristopher columbus did not discover america nor should be credited as such. The native Americans "discovered america" He found it completely by accident.
For somebody who was claimed to be a devoted follower of god he sure liked enslaving people and chopping off peoples hands, Working people to death, selling 10 year old to do sexual acts for his coworkers, in addition too kidnapping people and of course he loved gold.
I am seriously surprised he claimed to be trying to convert them.
