apparently Rod Gereald (the OSU QB) was high on coke throughout the game and that was why he tried 2 make that pitch as he was getting hit. i read it in "War As They Knew It."

This was the first game i saw at Michigan Stadium.
Ohio's last drive trying to tie the game, and Woody who always ran to his side of the field, ran a option right in front of me, inside the North end zone 20 yard line,, and Michigan was all over it, and stuffed it, they then took over the ball and ran the clock out, Michigan style..
good find on this game..

Michigan might have won one of those three straight rose bowls that we lost, if Rick Leach had Anthony Carter to throw to.

Thanks for posting these great Michigan football videos. It sure brings back great memories. Do you have the highlights of the 1976 and 1980 UM-OSU games? Those were two of the most exciting games that I remember as a kid.

Those are the only wins over OSU I don't have in my collection from the last 35 years.
I'd kill to get a copy of that 76 game.

The Sports Illustrated article about this game is on Rick Leach's web site. I'll bet it's mentioned somewhere. That little stunt landed Woody on probation for the following year, though.
