Great cinéma vérité free camera work by Ken Russell. I particularly like the slight holds as he lingers on the set pieces from the storyboard - Caine's hand sliding back down her arm, the twisting legs, her feet being dragged up stairs, the hands gripping the molding, his look over her shoulder, the door slam and the locked knob jiggle. Billion Dollar Brain starring Michael Caine and Karl Malden, 1967.
Not exactly cinema verite, but a good example of what then unusual in mainstream movies -- shooting with a hand-held camera. Richard Lester popularized its use in "Hard Day's Night," though I don't know if he was the very first. Still BBB is an interesting movie based on a spectacularly smart & even timely novel by Len Deighton.
