Carnival Cruise Ship Inspiration under the Sunshine Skyway Bridge

TAMPA - The Carnival cruise ship Inspiration finally returns to the Port of Tampa. Strong winds forced the cruise line to anchor the boat in the Gulf of Mexico for several hours before it made its way to port. The ship sat 15 miles west of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge for most of the day.

Carnival decided it was not safe enough for the Inspiration to attempt to go under the Skyway Bridge because of the rough seas brought on by high winds.

After the long ordeal, the 2,300 weary passengers arrived to the port safe and sound around eight o'clock on December 13th, 2010 (EST).
