A group calling itself "supporters of the National Resistance Movement political party" have formed an organization code named Coalition for a stable Uganda with the aim of countering the opposition "Walk-to-Work demonstrations".

During a press conference held in Kampala the group said that opposition leader, Rtd Col. Dr. Kiiza Besigye is responsible for the hike in the prices as he scared away potential investors who would locally produce commodities.

But police say they are not aware of the existence of the group and warn that they will be arrested should they go ahead with their purported plan.

The leader of this pro-government organization that has been set up to counter the opposition walk-to-work demonstration, Sam Okumu Mangeni says they are going to mobilize NRM supporters who will out number the opposition politicians and restrain them from their walk-to-work demonstrations.

But according to police this group is illegal and they stand to be arrested should they go ahead with their planned move.

Sb. Sam Okumu Mangeni the Coalition Leader said that the president was voted into power with 68% and therefore the 32% should not destabilize business and that they are therefore going to mobilize a force that will restrain Besigye and his group.

According to Okumu, the protests are a brain child of Col. Besigye whom he accuses of being greedy for power and is only hiding under the pretext of high prices to execute his mission.

Its clear that no amount of reason or logic will prevail upon Besigye's intended course of action since he is the one responsible of the inflation Ugandans are experiencing. After several attempts of WALK-TO-WORK demonstrations having been squashed by police with several opposition politicians arrested and charged in courts of law, there is likely to be a scene created as the pro government coalition for a stable Uganda attempt to restrain the Walk to Work demonstrators.
