Music video I made for the 1997 film Bent (starring Clive Owen and Lothaire Bluteau) to the song "Iris" by the Goo Goo Dolls.

SPOILER ALERT!-This video contains spoilers (Also Gives Away The Ending), so if you haven't seen the film yet, please don't let me ruin it for you.

*Based on the 1979 play by Martin Sherman
Film directed by Sean Mathias

Starring:

Clive Owen as Max
Lothaire Bluteau as Horst
Sir Ian McKellen as Uncle Freddie
Brian Webber as Rudy
Mick Jagger as Greta/George

*Comments/suggestions are, of course, much appreciated

  • Oh god. I just finished watching it and I had tears pouring from my eyes for the last half hour of it. From the being gentle scene straight out to the end. It's just.. I can't even describe it, definitely one of the (if not -the-) most powerful movies I've ever seen. I don't think I'll be able to stop thinking about it for a while.

Thank you for making that video, it's perfect for it. :)

  • Honestly, I had the same reaction the first time I saw the film. Even now (having seen it many many times) my eyes still get watery towards the end. It definitely is a very powerful movie and should receive more recognition.

And thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed my video :)

  • Yeah, it really should. Hugs to you for helping to spread the word by making this video. :D

The Holocaust is one of the most horrible things the human race has managed to come up with so far, it breaks my heart to even think about it. And the worst thing is that stuff like that is still going on in this world today and no one seems to be doing enough to make it stop. So much for 'never again'..

  • And hugs to you as well! :)

I agree with you. Not enough people in this world seem to care enough to prevent or stop the things we said we'd never let happen again...People who have very little or no connection to the Holocaust (i.e. having no relative or personal involvement) seemingly don't feel the need to care because it didn't involve them. And it's a shame that so many people tend to think like that these days... :(

  • someone person could tell me the name this movie please,,

  • The name of the movie is Bent

  • brilient movie, brilient song, brilient music video!!!!!!!!

  • The ending always makes tears fall down my cheeks!

  • My favorite song and my favorite movie together. Wow.

  • i'm doing the scene from bent where max talks about the dead jewish girl, i'm making it into a monologue for drama school, the book is so sad

  • i didnt know about bent until after watching a documentary about the subject of homosexuals in ww2 and their time in camps, i even suggested this would make a great film , not knowing of the movie bent, glad they have such a touching film

  • Yeap, people either don't care or don't even know about those things still going on. Or they simply think they can't affect the way things are anyway, so they don't even try. It's just sad..
