The camera dropped the frames. Frustrating.

Guy do you know that somebody composed this music and wanted it the way he actually wrote above the notes. He says "4th=4th" before the Key changes, that means he KNOWS that many people like you would slow it down, but HIS MUSIC is not that feelings, its another feeling that is unpartable with the same tempo as before. If you ignore that you're not an artist but an ignorant bighead.

Whatever makes you feel better, man.

the last part of the song is sometimes 3 times to slow, look at the notes!!!!!!

Don't get too wrapped up in what's on the page. Consider what the composer's goal might have been in artistic terms; nowadays I actually perform the final page slower. Rhythms are important, certainly, but in art song I believe it's more important to communicate the text than always be 100% faithful to the rhythms on the page.

outstanding work! bryn terfel and jonathan lemalu have always been the only ones who i have ever believed could truly give this piece life; you have shown me otherwise. beautiful tone, a few very minor errors (such as pitching at 4:16) but an outstanding and moving performance. marvellous, marvellous recording. thanks for sharing. you nailed 'quiet contemplation have, and renowned be thy grave' which is the most elusive, yet sublime, phrase in the entire piece. congratulations, fantastic!

Somehow I missed this comment entirely for the longest time, but thank you so much for your kind words. This made my day!
