Many places includeing a university,The Great Miami River, take their name from the Miami Tribe,a Nation that at this time i'm told they are not recognized as a Nation by the federal government. They are still here.

You are blessed to have those beautiful waterfalls around. We only have waterfalls in a small garden pond over here. Love to you and yours from your family from over the sea
