I really like this song and music video. How I miss these high energy songs from the 1980's!!!!! Thanks for posting this Evelyn Thomas song.

I saw Evelyn at the Saint in New York. She sang, of course, High Energy. Maybe you were there too. :)

Ian, I was on Holiday in London in 1984. Never had been on holiday before. I remember I was totally crazy about High Energy music. When I was back in Belgium I told everybody about this High Energy sensation. Even bought lots of 12 inch records in London. I like living in 2007 but sometimes I wish I could go back to that period I in London 1984. I'm so glad I found your videos here! Most of them I never saw.

This is my second favourite Evelyn track (after the brilliant THIS IS MADNESS). I first heard it on her album then bought the 12" version on the Nightmare label. Amazing vocalist and fab production.

Another great video provided by Ian Levine of the legendary Evelyn Thomas.

My first time on YouTube and imagine my shock to find a video I created YEARS ago has surfaced on the web! I will always remember that horribly cold day in the Quad Cities when Evelyn came to perform at JR's and was so wonderful to agree to shoot this thing. The stories I could tell of that day. Her manager at the time, Richard Weiner, has a quick shot in the crowd scene which was shot at my video studio, Lawper Video in Moline, IL (now extinct). Thanks for putting it up on the web.

How fabulous to read this comment from you. But sadly, Richard Weiner died many years ago, I spoke to Evelyn recently and she really enjoyed seeing this again. No other copy than mine seems to have survived, so no-one ever saw the video till now.

To respond to Ian Levine's comments. High Energy was such an iconic hit, I agree. However it was far from being the best of the 80's songs recorded by Evelyn. In my opinion, Sorry, Wrong Number & Tightrope were both brilliant and Number One Lover was spectacular.

You should contact Soren in Denmark. He has a copy of every track I ever produced including TONS of High Energy stuff that was never released for one reason or another.
