In my opinion there's a vast difference between playing a song fast and rushing on the notes, which I think you did.

have to agree that it sounds rushed. Alexx's got a point here. it is possible to play lightning fast without rushing. It just requires all the fundamentals and skills be up to speed (sorry for pun) as well. I'm just barely learning mandolin but I've got a long time with stringed instruments. These comments really are meant to be helpful so take 'em in stride and polish up the technique.

the second half definitely sounds less clear and even dan beimborn doesnt play so fast that it ruins the sound of the strings... but doesnt make sense to keep discussing this as long as you insist on beeing right... hf & gl on further playing...

uhm... ONLY playing fast isn't the real art of playing the mandolin... try to play a bit slower and increase your strummung/picking technique - because of the speed it sounds like amateur stuff (you can very clearly hear the plectrum hitting the string too hard and fast).
this is really meant as a constructive critique - i dont want you to affront you!
