found it a bit inappropriate to slide 9/11 slides into the song to try and tug on the heart strings

Why did you find it inappropriate? It was a suicide attack "whether long range weapon or suicide bomber...". I felt it fits into the song. And as for the "tug on the heart strings", surely the song does that for itself? And why should it not be shown? Ignorance about what goes on and trying to sweep it under the carpet only allows evil to continue.

what im saying is the video does a great job of portraying what is meant without needing to show in explicit detail making it much more clever and personally i find it better. especially the scene with him talking to the brick wall, it has lots of connotations, where as just showing slides of 9/11 is just distasteful and doesnt really add much to what the song is trying to say. The video itself creates a number of scenarios with children acting like terrorists, this has much more of an effect.

Fear is a weapon of mass destruction. And even if his Father enrolled by himself, it is his business. It's his father. ANYone can die in war, he just saying he doesn't want that to happen to other people.
