CobraMax® DM service with downhole mixing enables placement of a virtually unlimited number of fracturing stages in a horizontal section with the flexibility of on-demand, downhole changes in proppant concentration. Especially suited for shale formations, CobraMax DM service enables proppant slug diversion in the fracture to encourage branch fracturing and proppant pillar conductivity. CobraMax DM service is implemented with coiled tubing and the PowerReach® hybrid HWO/coiled tubing system. Non-abrasive fluid is pumped at a high rate down the annulus. The fluid is mixed downhole with low-rate proppant concentrate slurry pumped through coiled tubing. The service includes a new bottomhole assembly that features the Hydra-Jet™ TS perforating tool and a mixing sub to provide homogeneous slurries downhole. The ability to implement real-time downhole changes to proppant concentration helps achieve increased stimulated reservoir volume and connectivity to a larger fracture network.
