It doesn't really shock me about Judy Davis being so rude. Its her nature to be that way. She is a bully. But she should have respect for people she works with, no point in making life harder for someone that was clearly struggling & in trouble. I wonder how she felt when she heard about River's death.

River really resembled his dad 3:27. It must have been a heavy burden on his shoulders to support this many people. What did his parents do for a living except sending their kids to the streets or church to perform?

@DiCkRiChArDz It wasn't "Catholic nut jobs" who messed up River's early childhood, it was the members of a Christian cult. The only Catholic I know of who had anything to do with River's childhood is the priest who got them AWAY from the cult...

Why did River Phoenix and Judy David dislike each other so much? It's never explained WHY they had animosity towards each other. I'd be interested in knowing what the problem was.

@cynthiacher a year earlier, a movie studio had concerns + had his agent fly out on location to look after him. the rumours were secure as far as press was concerned but people talk. Davis had heard the rumours and decided to take issue with River before meeting him. He'd worked hard, spending months detoxing and was clean throughout their shoot- but she started with a preconcieved idea about him, leading to her either ignoring him or being nasty which led to his being anxious and uncomfortable.
