  • What king of magnet and coil you used? I mean did you made your own coil? I want to build one even smaller than that one, to power things like flashlight.

  • just my own coil, and I used neo magnets

  • what amps and volts is that thing pumping out???

  • Only that coil makes about 1.7Vac RMS at about 1A. It is just a test fixture for the real thing. Check my page at s4wsbox -dot- com I have a real windmill that I made there.

  • u got some pretty good result for using only 1 coil and for the size of theat turbine...

c my videos if you like wind turbines ;o)

  • Is that close to 1 volt or 10?

Also, clamp the windmill to a step ladder with so quick grips for better performance. The box was blocking all of your air.

  • I work in industrial areas and come accross lots of old scrap electric motors. How do i know if these motors can be used and how do i convert it to a generator?I can provide the motors technical information if you like. Please help me!

  • Actually, scrap magnets are easy to come by. If you know anyone who does industrial electricity, it is likely they swap out motors and generators vs repairing them, leaving the spent ones in a scrap heap behind the plant. Lesser magnets can be harvested from totaled vehicle speakers. But then, if you have scrap generators, or better yet, induction motors, you can replace the brushes yourself and away you go.

  • To get dc volts from your generator , You need a single diode and a good size capacitor. Put a diode in line with one of your leads from the coil. Then connect your capacitor from the end of the diode to the other lead of the coil. If you dont get a voltage then reverse your capacitor. Then your dc voltage will be across your capacitor. Let me know how it goes !!

  • Hi you might wanna out more coils i bet you would get twice the voltage of what you are getting there! Good luck

  • super cool,great project
