I love this fast tempo. It adds to the whole symphony's sense of tension.

De Sabata is one of the greatest conductors of XXth century, and maybe my favourite. Thank you for this sensationnal recording.

Travolgente! Quando lo ascoltai per la prima volta rimasi a bocca aperta. Una rivelazione.

Enthusiastic playing...

I like a conductor that can present a piece with an entirely different feeling.--its what makes music, conductors and interpretations so interesting

I like you.

I like it. :-)
It seems that there is a conductor at the podium.

Too fast! Completely wrong feeling.

Just got an email from Brahms. He said he liked this reading of Victor de Sabata, and that the two regularly share brews together in that great concert hall in the sky. However, his favorite conductors of his own music were Pierre Monteux and Ernest Ansermet, but they're not bear drinkers, so he doesn't socialize with them too much. He also said that he toyed with the idea of using a chorus in the final movement, but at a lost to find a text to fit the music.

De Sabata was great, the orchestra was TERRIBLE.
