This game is a masterpiece of the 8-bit era, and still holds it's own against RPGs of this day and age. This is an epic final battle for an epic game. Thanks for posting this video.

@DGneoseeker1 Nope you're release is different then the US release then Anthology was a set of FF5 and FF6.

@WhipLash42o Is the stand-alone Playstation 1 version part of this Anthology set? I mean, FF6 came on its own in a box, not with FF1 and FF2. Those were in a different box.

@DGneoseeker1 I'm afraid I also dont know if they were fixed in the Anthology set, I didnt but it since for 1, I couldnt find it and 2 I heard loading time's were terrible. I did buy Origins which was the FF1 and FF2 remake's, plus i bought Chronicles which had FF4 and Chrono Trigger (love that game). So i dont know if Anthology had translation fixes, But now that i think about it FF1 on Origins Had proper translation's, so I guess Anthology's FF6 would too.

@DGneoseeker1 I dont know if there was a PAL ver. or not, the game was called FF3 at the time because it was the 3rd installment to the FF series released here in the states. Only FF1 and FF4 (it was called FF2 when it first came to the states, as it was the second installment) and FF6 were originally released we basically skipped 3 games in the series. But that's off subject, the first ver. releases were riddled with mistranslation's example I just remembered Meltdown was called Merton lol

@WhipLash42o Hmm. Was there a PAL version? The version I played was definitely called FF6 not FF3... but it was in English. The only mistake I remember was the Atma weapon.

@DGneoseeker1 Yea the original SNES version the NA release (not the JP version) had mistranslations across the board, so did FF2 "FF4" and FF1 which was on the regular NES XD download the roms and see for yourself or just watch a youtube vid of it. I'm positve you'll find one versus like Goddess or something. Oh and Atma instead of Ultima thats another one lol

@DGneoseeker1 (It was a rom). I have the full game on the PS1. Haven't noticed mistranslations in that version either but maybe they were fixed.

@WhipLash42o Wait, what? I played FF6 on the SNES and I don't recall seeing "pearl" or "pure"...
Could be that I played the original Japanese version with a translation patch...

Darkfalz? Man you gotta love those old school translations.
Just for those who never played the orginal Phantasy Star series first off quit watching and go play them, you won't be dissapointed and the name is supposed to be Dark Force who appears in the first 3 games and maybe four don't know for sure I missed four.

hehe yeah, it's supposed to be Dark Force. I thought that was a funny translation slip but any fan of the game knows it's supposed to be Dark Force.

I'm actually grateful for the translation slip, as it gives the final boss and his name an original feel. Generally, when people hear the words dark and force used together, they basically get the gist of what they're dealing with. Dark Falz, on the other hand, is fairly unique and kinda makes ya think.. "Hmm WTF?".. in a good way, of course. My thoughts. =)

Ah fair enough, I agree with what you say. What's different is that in retrospect we realize how flawed the translations were in these old games. But you know, some of it is excusable, alot of games were translated decently. But budget problems and ineptitude account for the really bad translations. That's how it goes though.
