Technically this is a high pull, not really a power shrug but similar movement.. Either way your traps are going to grow so unproportionally big compared to the rest of your body you'll be happy ;)
you're able to do more weight and do the shrugs with a bigger range of motion, the slow shrugs usually stop getting good range of motion when you add heavier weights, look at how high he's shrugging here, he's really trying to bring his traps as high as possible, this looks really good
How does this version of the shrug compare to the more common and slower one? It looks like it develops more speed and power, and involves more muscles, making it a more compound movement. For developing the traps themselves, is this as effective as the traditional shrug?

explosive strength is much better than bodybuilding and doing slow reps.
it is good for my sport: dim mak
it gives me speed.
i like it :) and it is more effective than bodybuilding.
but that is my opinion
