@frmonth2 Due to Japans high volume of earthquakes, the foundations are built to sway with the building, rather than statically fixed like you would find in buildings in non-earthquake areas. This allows the shockwaves to travel through the structure easily, and the force of the earthquake is 'rolled' with and absorbed, similar to how a cars crumple zone absorbs an impact of a crash. In the video the building is still swaying after the earthquake for this reason

私当日このビルにいました。新宿マインズタワーですね。

上層階にいたのですがほんと驚きましたが。ビルの中の什器などは­殆ど倒れなかったのが不思議です。
