Sid, the Venezuelan Jungle Parrot and his "ventriloquist" handler appeared on British TV. Who can tell us the name of the show and the approximate date? And, who is this great ventriloquist?

such a funny sketch and as already stated, he is called Trevor James who apeared on Tizwas aswell as the royal variety. believe it or not i have the pleasure of seeing trevor almost everyday as he is my dads neighbor and can say he is still as funny now as he was back then and he still have 'Sid' the parrot

The ventriloquist is Trevor James (as announced by Des O'Connor a few seconds into the clip). Trevor appeared with Sid during much of the final series of legendary anarchic UK kids' TV show Tiswas in 1981-2. This clip must have been the thick end of a decade later.
