I agree, the alternative method is much more difficult, but challenging nonetheless. It's a nice way to play the game if you've gotten tired of the traditional power/balance method. I'm really looking forward to this game =]

The new way of hitting the ball is hard to get a hang of but it's really fun. The really hard part like what you did is setting power that isn't exactly 50 or 100%, especially on putts. Nice job, anyways.
