Some of the greatest South African artisits ever - Jody Wayne, Barbara Ray, Bill Forrest, Blackie Swart, Bobby Angel, Caroline du Preez, Clive Bruce, Dennis East, Lance James, Manuel Escorcio, Sally Vaughan and of course the funny Buddy Vaughan.

Jody Wayne \: - Bangalore, India born with Canadian parents Jody Wayne came to Rhodesia after spending some time in England. In 1965 Jody moved to Durban, South Africa where he formed the band "Little Jo & The Travelers". 18 Months later after their break-up Jody formed "Jody Wayne Scene" which later became "Guys & Dolls". In the 70's Jody started producing and discovered artists like : Barbara Ray, Gwynneth Ashley Robins, Neil Herbert and The Stockley Sisters. In 1975 Jody played the lead role in "'Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dream coat" and continued to tour South Africa in playing festivals and other shows. Jody wayne is probably most famous for "The wedding Song' & The wonder of Love'.

I just happened to stumble across this video tonight. I almost forgot how beautiful this song is and what a great singer Jodi Wayne is. He sang "The Wedding" at our wedding 32 years ago and we listen to that every year on our anniversary. Thank you so much for sharing.

WOW ~ Us Saffers just never realized how fortunate we were to have grown up listening to such fantastic music and many of us have had the honour of meeting some of the great artists / musicians mentioned above. Their music lives on in our hearts forever, even although so many of us no longer live in Sunny SA!
