James Saunders: 'materials vary greatly and are simply materials' (2010), played by Rhodri Davies, bowing objects of different materials wedged between the strings of a harp. From the CD 'divisions that could be autonomous but that comprise the whole', the title of an ongoing series of compositions by James Saunders exploring the nature of fragile sounds.
