In this documentary, doctors in three North American cities give us a glimpse into the lives of their refugee patients. The stories told here by the doctors -- and by the refugees themselves -- shed new light on the immigrant experience. These are stories of resilience in the face of great obstacles such as war, persecution and long, harrowing journeys.

While this DVD will be enriching for the casual viewer, it also makes a great learning tool. IF WE KNEW THEIR STORIES is found in the curriculum of medical schools, residency programs and nursing schools.
